Building a new airport in the Riviera Maya will allow diversification of the supply of airport services in a region, with a tourist corridor with dynamic growth and also to reduce time, avoiding the land transfer from Cancun or Cozumel to tourist destinations of the most important development in Mexico.
South Arch will require for its construction an investment of over $25 billion pesos, which makes this project a major highway infrastructure of this year, revealed the Secretariat of Communications and Transport in its "Investment Portfolio SCT 2010.”
